If you have a Wisycom MCR54 installed on a Sound Devices SL-2, you will note the 1/2-inch wide gap between the receiver and the slot. Why is there such a big gap? Why doesn't Wisycom provide the proper part with the purchase of the SuperSlot back plate? And why does Sound Devices use such a complicated "quick release" mechanism that doesn't work very well at all?

To solve these problems, we designed a simple plate that fits between the receiver and SL-2. It is attached by removing the existing bottom 2 screws under the slot on the SL-2 and screws into place using the supplied longer stainless steel screws. Then, you just slide in the MCR54 and it can be locked in place using the screws that are captive on the side of the receiver. They thread into the brass inserts on the adapter plate.

And bonus, since you will not need the SL-2 locking mechanism any more, you can completely remove it, save a few ounces, and regain access to the B Aux antenna input that inefficiently sits right behind the locking lever.
